Leonard Duka is arrested for the second time in Belgium.
The duke was handcuffed as part of the operation undertaken by SPAK the day before. His arrest was made possible after the exchange of information between the Albanian and Belgian police, for which SPAK requested security measures.
He was arrested a year ago, but the Belgian court later granted him a lighter security measure. Now it was banned for the second time.
Leonard Duka is known as the head of the 'Duke Clan', the criminal group that has had an ongoing conflict with Ervis Martinaj's group. The Duke's name is well known to the judiciary, but also to the Albanian public.
He was arrested in 2019 by a super operation for the fight against drug trafficking. He was also wanted for a failed assassination attempt before.
He is currently accused of murdering Santiago Malko.
Duke's enmity with Ervis Martinaj has attracted the most attention. Ervis Martinaj, who has been one of the biggest gambling bosses in Albania, circulating tens of millions of euros as well as a major investor in the construction sector, had become the most expensive 'prey' of his rivals, "Klani Duka" has often been mentioned for this 'prey'.
Since 2019, until he disappeared, several assassination attempts were planned and attempted against him, but in all cases he was able to escape. Not reaching Martinaj, the "Duka" clan started a hunt for people near Martinaj, attacking them. One of them was Santiago Malko.
