A 32-year-old man has been arrested by Durrës Police after being caught driving around armed with a pistol in a vehicle.
During the physical search, officers found a pistol in his bag, which he was in possession of without a permit. The search continued at his apartment, where a quantity of combat ammunition was seized.
Further verifications showed that the 32-year-old with the initials EK was driving the vehicle without a driver's license, adding another criminal offense to his charge.
"The "Eagle" Special Force Services, in continuation of their work to identify and detain citizens who circulate with weapons without a permit, based on information obtained in operational channels, in cooperation with the Crime Investigation Specialists of the Durrës Police Commissariat, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Midnight".
During the operation, in neighborhood no. 18, the vehicle driven by citizen EK was stopped.
During the physical search of citizen EK, the Police Services found 1 firearm, a pistol, in his fanny pack, which he possessed without a permit, while during the search of his apartment, a quantity of combat ammunition was also found.
Further verifications revealed that the 32-year-old was driving the vehicle without a driver's license.
At the end of the procedural actions, the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen EK, 32 years old, resident of Durrës, was made for the criminal offenses of "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Irregular driving of vehicles".
"The procedural materials were passed to the Durrës Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced .
