The father of 19-year-old Myrto has given a different version of the circumstances of his daughter's death, stating to "MEGA" that she may have fallen victim to an exploitation network, even mentioning the possibility that her kidnapping was planned to take her to Athens.
"I'm playing MacGyver. I don't know, I'm just speculating. They took my daughter's cell phone, anyone could have texted her ," he initially said.
He also spoke about the possible existence of a circle of people behind the tragic event that shocked Greek public opinion on Easter Monday, claiming that Myrto could have been targeted for sexual exploitation for financial gain.
"There are others involved, we need to see how we got into that room ," he stressed.
Along the same lines, the family's lawyer, Mr. Drakoulogonas, confirmed that information is circulating on the island about the involvement of other people in the death of the 19-year-old.
"Only in this way will the truth about what happened come to light. The loss of Myrtos can serve as a moment to cleanse the community of such phenomena," he told ERT.
The lawyer added that from the data so far, it appears that people who maintain telephone and online contact with certain individuals operate in the area, underlining the need for more in-depth investigations.
"The last four hours and four days before the event must be analyzed to understand how and under what circumstances we ended up in that room ," he stressed.
Meanwhile, former police officer George Kalliakmanis stated that there were indications of a possible plan to involve the girl in prostitution, a plan that, according to him, was not realized due to her tragic end.
He also mentioned that an 18-year-old girl was in another room, hinting that the case may not be isolated, but part of a wider activity.
What did the lawyer say about the doctors?
Regarding the medical intervention, the family's lawyer said that according to the victim's mother, medical personnel were present from the very beginning of the incident. "The mother confirmed to me that all the doctors and staff were on site from the beginning ," he said.
