A serious incident happened in Dhërmi where 3 people came in contact with the electric current, as a result of which one of them died, while the other two are in a serious condition.
The owner of the 'Hilton' hotel and two of his employees came into contact with the electric current while doing some work on the exterior lighting of the hotel this afternoon.
As a result, the owner of the hotel, Aldo Metani, died in the hospital, while the two employees, EH and KN, are in serious condition.
The three citizens were sent to the hospital for medical help after contact with the electricity, but the owner of the hotel could not survive the injuries received during the contact. The condition of the other two employees remains to be seen.
It is learned that the 3 people were installing an external lighting pole, while they approached the high voltage line and it fell. Meanwhile, the helicopter is expected to arrive to send the two employees in serious condition to Tirana.
"Following the preliminary information given, for the three citizens who came into contact with electricity in the external premises of a hotel in Dhërmi, we inform you that the citizen AM, about 40 years old, the owner of the hotel, died due to injuries, while the two injured employees will be transported for specialized medical assistance in Tirana", the police announcement states.
So, the investigative group went to the hotel for a complete clarification of the circumstances of the event.
"Around 17:25, in Dhërmi, citizens A. M, E. H, and K. N, (the owner and 2 employees of a hotel), allegedly working with the hotel's external lighting, accidentally came into contact with electricity and as a result were injured. All three citizens were transported for medical help to the hospital, where they are under the care of doctors", informs the police.
