The Fier Prosecutor's Office has closed the investigation into an employee of the "Eagle" Special Unit and sent the case to court. He is accused of recruiting a minor with financial difficulties into the illegal activity of distributing narcotics.
According to the investigation data, the prosecution concluded that the officer took deliberate actions to approach a student, a drug user and with family and economic problems, with the aim of using him to sell drugs.
The investigation reveals that initially the minor was approached with the pretext of providing police information. Later, according to the prosecution, the main goal was his involvement in the distribution of narcotics in the city.
At the conclusion of the case, the prosecution filed charges against him for production and sale of narcotics, abuse of office, and inciting a minor to commit a crime, according to the relevant provisions of the Criminal Code.
"The Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier completed the investigations and sent to trial the citizen BD, accused of the criminal offenses of 'Production and sale of narcotics', 'Abuse of office' and 'Inducing a minor to commit a crime', provided for by articles 283/1, 248 and 129 of the Criminal Code.
At the end of the investigations, on criminal proceedings no. 380, year 2024, it was proven that the police officer of the Special Unit "Eagle" BD, with the aim of selling narcotics, took all actions to recruit the student EH, a narcotics user, with family problems and in economic difficulties.
Recognizing the latter's dependence and taking advantage of his qualities as an employee of the Eagles, the defendant BD initially "recruits" the minor to provide him with police information, but the main goal was to use him for the sale of narcotics. The proactive investigation of the case resulted in the defendant BD, through active actions, carried out intentionally, committing a regular failure to fulfill his duty, violating the interests of the state, public order and the minor EH.
"Furthermore, the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Fier expresses its full commitment and the legal responsibility of public service employees who commit criminal offenses against order, public safety and children," the Prosecutor's Office said in a statement.
