One of the people who was injured in the collision that led to the murder of 66-year-old Rexhep Ismaili yesterday evening in Saranda, surrendered to the police today.
The victim is Kostandin Vogli, 31, a resident of Shën Vasil, Himara. Vogli was transported to the Saranda hospital where he received first aid, after suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.
During his stay at the Saranda hospital, Vogli was questioned by the prosecutor in the case, while he is expected to be transferred to the Vlora Hospital for more specialized treatment but also for security reasons.
The 31-year-old is suspected of being the person who had a conflict with 50-year-old Tori Ruci and is believed to have called some of his friends after spotting Ruci at the bar of 66-year-old Rexhep Ismaili.
It was there that a physical conflict erupted over hard objects that later degenerated into an exchange of gunfire between the parties. It is believed that Vogli was injured by shots with a Kalashnikov from Rexhep Ismaili, which then forced one of the young men to open fire with a pistol, killing him.
Kostandin Vogli is a person with a criminal record for "improper driving", while in August 2023 he was wanted for "production and sale of narcotics" and "cultivation of narcotic plants", but it is not known whether he has served a sentence for these offenses.
