A 41-year-old man is under investigation, after he tried to leave Albania with 29 thousand undeclared euros.
Two other people who were traveling with this citizen, with whom the 41-year-old shared the amount of money, were also prosecuted, in order to avoid their declaration.
"As a result of the maximum engagement of the services of the Border Police of PKK Kapshtica, for the prevention and attack of border crimes, in addition to the work to provide a quality and ethical service to citizens entering/exiting, another case of non-declaration of money.
Based on the risk analysis, upon leaving the country, the "Wagen Turan" type vehicle with which citizens EI, 41 years old, MI, 23 years old and LI, were traveling towards Greece, was passed for control in the second line. 20 years old, living in Korça. During the search in their bags, a total of 29,000 undeclared euros were found, much of which is suspected to be possessed by the citizen EI, and which he had shared with the other 2 citizens, in order to avoid legal responsibility at the time of the transition to border.
Following the procedural actions for this case, the monetary amount was seized and the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state for the above 3 citizens, for the criminal offense "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border".
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Korçë General Jurisdiction, for further actions", the police announcement states.
