A 22-year-old man has been arrested by police in Tirana after exploiting 4 Colombian nationals for prostitution.
It is learned that two of them had rented an apartment on Rruga e Barrikadave, to live together with 2 other citizens, and had adapted it for practicing prostitution.
Two of the Colombian nationals were arrested after being accused of the criminal offenses of "Maintaining premises for prostitution" and "Prostitution".
Also, criminal proceedings have been initiated against Colombian citizens KR, 23 years old, and AA, 21 years old, for the criminal offense of "Prostitution".
"A case of exploitation of prostitution and adaptation of premises for prostitution is being investigated. A 22-year-old man who exploited 4 Colombian citizens for prostitution is identified and arrested."
Two of these citizens were arrested after they had adapted the apartment where they lived with two other Colombian citizens, on Barrikadave Street, for the practice of prostitution. The other two citizens who practiced prostitution are being prosecuted.
As a result of intensive investigations conducted by the Trafficking Investigation Section, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, the police operation codenamed "Apartment" was organized and finalized.
As part of this operation, the following citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto:
-KP, 22 years old, resident of Tirana, for the criminal offense of "Exploitation of prostitution";
-JO, 20 years old, and LC, 27 years old, Colombian citizens, for the criminal offenses of "Maintaining premises for prostitution" and "Prostitution".
Also, criminal proceedings were initiated against Colombian citizens KR, 23 years old, and AA, 21 years old, for the criminal offense of "Prostitution".
The investigation revealed that citizen KP exploited 4 Colombian citizens for prostitution. 2 of them, citizens JO and LC, had rented an apartment on Rruga e Barrikadave, to live together with the other 2 citizens, and had adapted it for the practice of prostitution.
"Work continues under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office to fully document this activity and to identify other citizens who may be involved," the police announced.
