The Court of Durrës confirmed the security measure "arrest in prison" for Indrit Allamani, 48 years old, accused of VAT fraud.
The decision was taken after the court session held for the verification of coercive measures determined by the criminal decision of October 13. Meanwhile, the measures remained unchanged for the other three citizens involved in the case, who are accused of "not reporting a crime."
Judge Paulin Çera confirmed that the security measures for all the accused will remain in force, despite the efforts of the defense for their relief. In addition to Allaman, who has been arrested, Indrit Visha, 35 years old, Redion Sefa, 22 years old, and Lovjano Topi, 19 years old, are wanted. The suspects were involved in a fraud scheme that caused the state a loss of over 127 million ALL.
The court approved the prosecution's request for security measures, setting "house arrest" for Albana Paja and "obligation to appear" for Brikena Çela and Aldo Myftari, accused of failing to report a crime.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, the investigations have revealed the manipulation of VAT declarations, through the use of fake invoices and fictitious transactions.
The Durrës Prosecutor's Office issued arrest warrants for the four businessmen who are suspected of being involved in the criminal offense "Creation of fraudulent schemes related to value added tax".
