A serious incident occurred a few minutes ago near the Court of Appeal in Tirana.
It is suspected that judge Astrit Kalaja was shot.
It was previously learned that the judge was injured and is in serious condition.
Immediately after the incident, the police made it possible to arrest the perpetrator.
Who is judge Astrit Kalaja?
Astrit Kalaja was born in the city of Shkodra and graduated in 1993 from the Faculty of Law. As soon as he finished his studies with the title of "Jurist", he was appointed to the position of judge in the Shkodra district. For the last seven years, he has served as a member of the Court of Appeal. As part of the Vetting process, he was reconfirmed in office in December 2019.
