A 50-year-old woman is under investigation, after she was caught trying to pass through Kakavija with 41,000 undeclared euros.
The 50-year-old, Zh. D., 50 years old, living in Greece, has been leaving the Albanian territory through the Kakavijë border crossing point. During the check, the 50-year-old was found in her bag with 41 thousand euros that she had not declared.
Therefore, the investigation for the criminal offense "Failure to declare cash and valuables at the border" has been launched, while 41,000 euros were seized.
"As a result of the increased vigilance of the Border Police services, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, in PKK Kakavijë, at the exit of Albania, a check was made on the bag of the citizen Zh. D., where 41,000 euros were found, which this citizen had not declared in accordance with the law.
Following the procedural actions for the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings began in a free state, for the criminal offense "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", for the citizen Zh. D., 50 years old, resident in Greece. Also, the amount of euros was seized as material evidence", the police informs.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër, for further actions.
