Cocaine orders were made over the phone and the drug was delivered directly to homes, with a scheme similar to food or pizza delivery services.
A police operation in Treviso, Italy, led to the arrest of two Albanians, aged 23 and 29, suspected of drug trafficking. They were caught red-handed selling cocaine to two Italian buyers in Treviso and Silea.
According to the investigation, both used vehicles registered in the names of other persons, unrelated to the criminal activity, as well as special telephone lines for drug distribution. During the police operation, about 60 grams of cocaine and more than 20 thousand euros in cash were seized.
After their arrest, the two Albanians were presented at an expedited trial and sentenced to eight and eleven months in prison, respectively.
The first case concerns a 23-year-old Albanian man who was stopped on Via delle Marie in Treviso while selling a dose of cocaine to a buyer for 60 euros. During the search, police found the money from the transaction and a metal container with a magnet hidden under the car, which contained 34 doses of cocaine ready for sale. The search of his apartment also led to the seizure of 16,000 euros hidden in a sofa cushion.
That same day, authorities also arrested a 29-year-old Albanian man on Via Treviso in Silea, while he was selling five doses of cocaine to an Italian citizen for 300 euros.
In this case too, the police discovered a metal container with a magnet hidden under the vehicle, containing 23 doses of cocaine ready for sale, as well as the amount of money gained from the sale. 4 thousand euros were also seized from the search of his apartment, Italian media report.
