The Tirana police have seized 46 kilograms of tritol in an operation that hit a criminal group from Kosovo, which trafficked explosives to our country.
The police have arrested three people from Gjilan, while 2 others have been declared wanted.
The arrested are Rigon Maliqi, 20 years old, Lion Pira, 25 years old, and Shkelqim Halabaku, 27 years old.
The director of the Tirana Local Police, Tonin Vocaj, in a press conference gave details about the operation of the law enforcement forces.
He informed that the explosive was intended to be used by criminal groups, while he said that three people were arrested and 2 others were declared wanted, all of Kosovar nationality.
Weapons and explosives were seized in the direction from Kosovo to Albania .
Three people were arrested on the bridge of Gjole, Rigon Maliqi, Lion Pira, Shkëlqim Halabaku resident in Gjilan Kosova. Two more persons with Kosovar citizenship were declared wanted.
203 tritol molds weighing 46 kilograms destined to be used by various criminal groups. 3 mobile phones and a vehicle are also seized ," he said.
Vocaj said that the 3 arrested persons are related to the explosion of a notary's office in the former Block, a few days ago.
He also emphasized that investigations into this event are still ongoing and that efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators to justice.
" Investigations are continuing. There is no connection between the explosion at the notary's office and the seized explosives. For the explosion, it turns out that the perpetrators we stopped committed this crime against payment. The work continues to identify the orderers and bring them to justice ", he emphasized.
The event happened a few days ago, on "Perlat Rexhepi" street in the former Block in the early hours of the morning.
Material damage was reported as a result of the explosion at that time. The business where the explosive was placed is in the name of Esmeralda Dauti.
RENA and National Security Forces participated in the action.
