Besard Xhaferri, an officer of the border police in the Port of Durrës, has been arrested for abuse of duty by the Police Surveillance Agency (AMP). According to the AMP, the 3-year-old officer allowed the trafficking of weapons to Italy.

This car has traveled on the Durres-Bari line and has just landed in Bari, during the control, 2 pistol-type firearms were found.
During the inspection at the Port of Durrës, the scanner showed suspicion, but the officer ignored it, allowing the vehicle to pass.
The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, also reacted to the arrest of the policeman, who, through a post on Facebook, says that the process of self-purification of the state police continues.
"The process of self-cleaning in the State Police continues. Thanks to the investigation of the Police Surveillance Agency in cooperation with the Durres General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office, an employee of the Border Police has been arrested in the Port of Durres, suspected of the criminal offense of "Misuse of duty". The even closer cooperation of the Police Surveillance Agency and the Special Prosecutor's Office, regarding the exchange of information regarding the possible involvement of police officers in illegal activities, will significantly contribute to the successful realization of the self-cleaning process and, on all, in increasing the accountability and credibility of the State Police organization, as a key institution for guaranteeing order and security in the country, where trust and cooperation with other institutions and the public constitute a basic condition", writes the minister.
Investigations continue for the involvement of other police officers in this criminal activity.
