A 34-year-old Albanian man was sentenced to 24 months in prison for cultivating cannabis in Great Britain. According to what the BBC writes, E. Nezaj was caught taking care of 195 cannabis plants in an apartment where he is believed to live.
He admitted a charge of producing the Class B drug at Ipswich Crown Court. The judge in the case, Richard Kelly, said the defendant had a key role in the drug manufacturing process. Nezaj, who went to Great Britain as an asylum seeker, was arrested on January 19 by the police, after suspicions that the property in question was growing cannabis.
The court learned about the fact that the 34-year-old man tried to escape from the officers by crossing the surrounding fence of the garden and throwing a garbage can on the street. However, his attempt failed.
Officers who raided the cannabis farm said it was a "professional and organized" venture. The cannabis plants were scattered in 3 rooms and in the attic. The entire building was fitted with the necessary equipment for drug cultivation.
