A young Albanian man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison in Britain after being involved in the transport and storage of a quantity of cocaine and heroin, with an estimated value of up to 200 thousand pounds.

It is about the 21-year-old Albanian, identified as Edlir Gjoka, who, according to foreign media, entered the English territory illegally in January 2023, and only three months later became part of the criminal activity of the drug trade.

Gjoka was stopped by the British police while he was driving a rented car, while during the physical and vehicle search, 635 pounds, two iPhones and two blocks of cocaine were found and seized, weighing a little more than a kilogram in total.

According to the police, the drug possessed by the young Albanian was class A and had a value of up to £100,000.

Two more blocks of heroin were found after a search of his apartment, as well as 14 cannabis plants that had been grown in the attic. The heroin also weighed just over a kilogram and was valued at around £100,000.

Gjoka pleaded guilty to charges of possession of cocaine and heroin with intent to supply. The British media say that before the black squads, the 21-year-old said that he had acted as a "courier".

His lawyer said that Gjoka owed money to several people who helped him enter the country illegally, but he did not come here with the intention of engaging in drug trafficking.
