A serious event shocked Matt this morning.
63-year-old Islam Meta shot and killed a 52-year-old Petrit Kuka. After the crime, he called the police and surrendered.
According to the police, the murder was revenge for an old incident 11 years ago where the perpetrator had injured his daughter.
Kuka was in love with the daughter of Islam Meta and asked to be engaged to her, but the girl's family did not accept him and they betrothed the girl to someone else.
To take revenge, Petrit Kuka injured the girl when she got engaged. Since then, relations between the two families have been conflictual.
" On 21.01.2024, in the village of Vig, in Burrel, citizen IM, about 63 years old, killed citizen P. K, about 52 years old, with a shotgun.
The suspected author of this event, after committing the crime, called the Police and told about the circumstances of the event and then asked to surrender.
From the preliminary investigations carried out, it is suspected that the incident happened because the victim, a citizen PK, in 2013, for weak motives, injured the daughter of a citizen IM
The Police Services immediately went to the scene and are escorting the IM citizen to the police station.
The investigative group under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident ," the police announced.
