
Colombian authorities have seized an amount of 2.6 tons of cocaine, hidden among boxes of bananas. The cocaine was seized during a search of cargo containers at the port of Santa Marta.
A container reported to be a shipment of bananas bound for Vlissingen, the Netherlands, was searched at the site. While the second operation was carried out at the port through the inspection of a cargo of bananas that had as its final destination the port of Antwerp, Belgium.
According to the local media, it is possible that the pure cocaine is for the traffickers of the so-called Balkan cartel, which has united the Albanian and Serbian mafia bosses.
