A 25-year-old man was arrested by the Korca police after he was caught transporting 17 illegal immigrants.
The young man was caught red-handed on the "Korçë-Pogradec" road axis, near the village of Vërdovë, Pogradec, transporting 17 immigrants in the direction of Tirana, with an "Opel" van.
The 25-year-old with the initials RH lives in Kodër-Kamëz, Tirana. The police seized the vehicle in which the migrants were being transported and a mobile phone.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance of the Korça General Jurisdiction.
"Caught in the act of transporting 17 immigrants from Third Countries for profit, with the aim of illegally crossing the border, the 25-year-old man was arrested.
The vehicle in which the immigrants were being transported and a mobile phone were seized.
The Investigation Section of DVKM Korçë, following the work to crack down on the criminal activity of providing assistance to foreign citizens, against profit, for illegal border crossing, based on information provided by the police, have finalized the coded police operation " Axis", as a result of which the citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto:
