Justice authorities in the United States of America have requested the extradition of a Colombian arrested by SPAK order in November last year for involvement in cocaine trafficking.
According to Abcnews, this is Colombian Hiwelenn Ledezma Narvaez, also known by the nickname "Gafas", who was declared wanted in November 2023 by US authorities as the leader of a criminal group trafficking cocaine from Colombia to the United States.
He attempted to smuggle 1 ton of cocaine from Colombia to the state of Florida, but was discovered because part of the group was an infiltrated American DEAS agent.
In the extradition request submitted to the General Prosecutor's Office, it is stated that Colombian Ledezma, who was detained in Albania as one of the people who would extract cocaine from animal skins in a laboratory in the village of Qerrekë in Fushë-Krujë, is also involved in cocaine trafficking from Colombia to America together with an Albanian citizen named Klodian Zaimi, reports Abcnews.
The latter has been arrested in Colombia to be extradited to America. On the other hand, the Special Prosecution Office will reject the request for Ledeza's extradition at least until the conclusion of the investigations underway in our country, while the decision will be given by the Tirana Criminal Court.
