"Prison arrest" has been decided by the Court of First Instance of Fier Judicial District, for 34-year-old Aranit Arapi, accused of the criminal offense of "committing sexual relations with a minor".
He appeared today in front of the jury chaired by prosecutor Oliana Gjergjefi, where he was introduced to the measure. Since the victim is a minor, the case was judged by judge Klodiana Kryeziu.
Arapi was arrested in his apartment in the village of Kryekuq in Divjakë after numerous reports to the police of the family of the minor girl with whom he had been married for almost 1 year.
The father of the 14-year-old girl who lived with a 35-year-old man for 1 year has stated that the girl was kidnapped at the age of 13 without his consent. The father confesses that he was forced to accept this difficult situation for him, as the daughter told him that she loved the boy and if he intervened to separate them, she would commit suicide.
The girl left without informing anyone, in March of 2023, during the big break while studying at school in the seventh grade.
After the denunciation of the family members, which, according to the father, was prompted by the fact that the daughter was moving away from him more and more and there was no security for her life, the police arrested the 35-year-old man, who is now behind bars, while the 14-year-old girl is under care of experts in a social center in Tirana, currently without education.
The 35-year-old will face the charge of "sexual relations with a minor" in court, which risks 7 to 15 years of imprisonment.
