
The Greek police have arrested 14 people and announced the search for 5 others, as part of a criminal group that distributed cocaine on the island of Corfu.
Among those arrested and declared wanted are 11 Albanian citizens, many of them from Saranda. Among those arrested is one wanted by Interpol Tirana as well as a former Greek policeman.
According to the Greek police, this criminal group has been operating since September 2022, circulating about 1.5 kg of cocaine, of which 950 grams have been seized by the police. During yesterday's operation, it was learned that 1 pistol, 5600 euros, 2 vehicles and 8 mobile phones were seized.
It is known that some of the arrested persons were in prison, having been arrested before. Among the arrested persons is Enivled Aliaj, 39 years old from Saranda.
Enivled Aliaj is wanted by Interpol Tirana for the criminal offense of "attempted murder" and "domestic violence". Aliaj was previously arrested in Corfu on April 14, 2023, in connection with the arrest warrant issued by Albania.
