A 57-year-old man has been arrested by Tirana police, accused of committing five thefts in recent months.

Police say the 57-year-old stole money from the safes of businesses and homes.

"The police operation codenamed "Safe Box" is being finalized by Police Stations No. 2 and No. 3."

A 57-year-old man, previously convicted of theft, was arrested for stealing money from the safes of businesses and homes.

5 cases of theft of large sums of money committed by this citizen in recent months have been solved.

Some of the hard objects that this citizen allegedly used to open safes were seized.

The services of Police Commissariat No. 2, in cooperation with the services of Police Commissariat No. 3, in continuation of the work to prevent thefts, uncover those that occurred previously and bring the perpetrators to justice, after a thorough investigative work, organized and successfully finalized the "Safe Box" operation, as a result of which the citizen was arrested:

– RH, 57 years old, for the criminal offense of “Theft”, previously convicted for the same criminal activity.

From the investigative actions it is suspected that this citizen:

-on 16.02.2025, he stole 1200 euros from the safe of a business on "Abdyl Frashëri" street;

-on 02.02.2025, he stole 300,000 lek from the safe of a subject on "Reshit Çollaku" street;

-on 13.12.2024, he stole 370,800 lek from the safe of a company's office;

-on 10.11.2024, he stole a considerable amount of money from an apartment on Rruga e Dafinave;

-on 19.09.2024, he stole a large amount of money from the offices of a company, on "Abdyl Frashëri" street.

During the search of the 57-year-old's apartment, police found and seized some of the items he allegedly used to open safes.

"The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
