Martina Pajollari, accused of failing to report a crime in connection with the murder of Martin Çeço, has been under house arrest for two weeks, after the legal detention period expired.
The decision to change the measure was taken by the court, following a request submitted by her defense, which requested her release from the cell. Until this moment, Pajollari was held in custody in the Pojska prison.
About two months ago, the other three people accused of the same event were released from detention for the same reason, the expiration of the deadlines set by law.
According to the prosecution, Pajollari is suspected of having helped ambush the victim, Martin Çeço, and then failing to report the crime to the authorities.
The incident took place in June 2022 in the village of Kolanec, Maliq, where Çeço was shot dead and his body was then thrown into a reservoir. The murder caused a widespread reaction in public opinion and received significant media attention.
According to preliminary investigations, the motives for the crime are related to a personal conflict and jealousy, in the context of the victim's relationship with Pajollari.
