And they would reinforce more and more the conviction of the investigative group that they were facing a murder committed within the family. What would sink the accomplices in the crime would be the early morning after the murder, from which it turned out that the Citroen car used by the head of the family Pëllumb Meta, moved before daylight from the apartment to the place where it was found abandoned a few days later. in the village of 'Sektori Rinia'. But this car was not alone in its movement. After starting behind this vehicle, another vehicle leaves the apartment.
"During the inspection of the cameras in the subjects near the residence of the citizen Pëllumb Meta and the road axis that leads to the village of 'Sektori Rinia', where the vehicle was found closed, it was found that at 4:16 a.m. on February 11, 2024, from the neighborhood alley where the apartment is located, the "Citroen" vehicle comes out, which moves towards the place where it was later found. "Just three minutes from this alley, another vehicle moves in the direction of the 'Youth Sector', which appears to be a black 'Audi' ," the file states.
After these vehicles pass one after the other, and are noticed in the 'Youth Sector', only 6 minutes later, on the way back, only the 'Audi' type vehicle is found, which at 4.34 takes the direction from the 'Rinia Sector' to Shënavlash, this would be it "Audi" type vehicle that would reveal the possible perpetrators of the event, which for the investigative group turned out to be the family members of the one who was already considered a victim of a crime in the family.
"Referring to the reasonable evidence, the first to be called to give their testimonies were the family members of Pëllumb Meta, the children Hysen, Amarildo and Hygerta Meta as well as the wife Blerina Meta, who were confronted with the collected evidence. The first to admit guilt was the daughter, Hygerta Meta, who said that she had killed her father and buried him in the shed near the house. And that he had thrown the weapon in a swamp", the file states.
But while Hygerta Meta said that she had taken her father's car to the 'Youth Sector', her family members said that they only found out on February 22 that she had killed her father, i.e. only 12 days after his disappearance , which did not seem credible to the investigative team. During her testimony, Hygerta stuck to the version that she killed her father because he mistreated her.
"I killed my father with the type TT pistol firearm that he kept in the apartment. The reason why I took this action is that he wanted to get engaged to me harder, while I wanted to continue my higher studies. While he put me under pressure and wanted to get his word out", it is further stated in the file .
This statement was also supported by other family members, but the investigative group decided to carry out inspections in the apartment as well. Where on the second floor, a gun shell was also found in a drawer.
"During the inspection of a drawer in the sofa located in the living room of the second floor of the apartment, a 7.62 mm model 54 firearm shell was found", said Hygerta Meta.
Faced with incontrovertible evidence, which overturned her testimony that she was her father's killer, Hygerta Meta finally admitted that the real trigger was her older brother Hyseni.
"We had been having problems with our father for some time, and because of the bullying and insults he gave us, we thought of killing him. On Saturday, February 10, when the father came home from work at 3:00 p.m., he started arguing with his brother. Then the father lay down on a couch in the kitchen. During this time, Hyseni took the 'TT' type pistol and shot at him four times. During this time, the other brother and mother were not in the apartment" , she stated.
Contrary to what her mother says that she did not know about the murder, Hygerta said that her mother found out about the murder when she arrived at the apartment that day.
"The mother and the younger brother learned of the father's murder when they arrived at the apartment," she said to the investigators.
Mom was shocked by what we had done. During the evening, the two brothers were busy opening the pit and hiding the corpse, as well as the gun and cartridges. We agreed with each other that even if we were found out, I would take the blame. The mother cleaned the room as well as the sofa where the father was lying, during the moment when we shot him, while the two brothers moved the car. After Hygerta's confession, Hyseni, the eldest son of the family, also admitted the crime. The one who, just two days later, had presented himself to the police to report his father's disappearance. He said that he killed his father, as the latter insulted him constantly, because he was unemployed.
"I and other family members have always had conflicts with my father. He insulted me constantly, as I was unemployed. On Saturday, February 10, we were both in the kitchen. And he insulted me again. I went out, took the 'TT' type gun, which he left in a small room, came back and shot him four times. At 4:00 in the morning, a few hours after the crime, together with my brother, we moved the car, to create the idea that the father had left the apartment", stated Hysen Meta.
According to Hysen, the black 'Audi' car with which his brother followed him, they had taken from a friend of theirs.
"Amarildo took the 'Citroen' car and moved it towards the 'Youth Sector'. And I moved with an 'Audi' car that I had taken from one of our friends. Then we hid the weapon in the bathtub area near the swamp, in front of our apartment", says Hysen Meta.
As he stated, the crime weapon was found exactly where Hyseni said they had hidden it. Wrapped in a piece of meringue. The fact of the car leaving the apartment was also accepted by the family's little son. In relation to Hygerta's claims that the father had wanted to betroth her with difficulty, the investigative group also questioned the claimant's family, which said the opposite of what Hygerta stated.
And that Pëllumbi, her father, had not agreed to betroth her, as according to him the girl was in high school and had to concentrate on her studies. While the owner of the 'Audi' type vehicle said that Hyseni had asked for his car, as he was going to hide a weapon. Despite the investigation, where the sister and two brothers faced the court, they again changed their testimony. But this event seems to have many question marks going forward. Where one of the most important is the real motive for killing this father. Is Blerina Meta involved in the murder of her husband, or was it a criminal consensus between the children? And can a child kill a father in modern times, and what is the force that drives him to such a crime, which we have only encountered in the ancient tragedies of Sophocles?
