Other details have emerged from the murder of Valter Lleshi, the 45-year-old who was executed on Monday morning in the Reps area of Mirdita. The investigation team has managed to almost completely uncover the victim's movements from the moment he left the apartment to the place where he was found dead, which has convinced the police that the 45-year-old was kept under surveillance by the perpetrators. There are no security cameras in the area where Lleshi was found murdered, but the police are collecting camera footage on the route the victim followed. It is expected that these images will shed more light on the serious incident and that they may lead to the discovery of details about the perpetrators.
According to reports citing sources from the investigation group, the 45-year-old had left his apartment in Rrëshen at around 06:00 and, together with a work colleague, had headed towards the basalt company in Reps, where he worked.
About two kilometers before the crime scene, the passenger got off at a bar, while the 45-year-old continued on his way alone. This was precisely the moment when the perpetrators opened fire with automatic weapons, causing the 45-year-old's immediate death.
Reports indicate that several people have been questioned, including family members of the victim, while the main line of investigation is that of revenge.
Valter Lleshi was killed in his car, a “Toyota”, in the village of Shkorret, along the Reps–Spaç road in Mirditë. He was shot with automatic fire. 18 shell casings were found at the scene, while the victim was found inside the car by a worker who was also on his way to work and notified the police. Lleshi is an employee of the basalt company in Spaç, while the car in which he was found dead is registered to the company.
In March, TNT was placed on the heavy-duty machinery of the company that Lleshi ran, but it failed to explode.
The 45-year-old is suspected of being executed for revenge motives, while according to reports referring to sources from the investigation group, he was known for his friendly ties with the Reçi tribe. One of the leads being investigated is an early suspicion of Lleshi's involvement in the murder of Anton Keli, on the evening of December 16, 2020 in Rrëshen.
Keli turns out to have been a relative of Armando Gjini, who was killed on August 12, 2019. However, police sources state that so far Valter Lleshi has not been investigated nor filed as a suspect for the murder of Anton Keli.
Regarding the incident, the police have been reserved in providing information. " At around 07:10, in the village of Shkorret, Mirditë, on the Reps–Spaç road, citizen V. Ll., around 45 years old, was found in a vehicle, suspected of being killed with a firearm.
Immediately after receiving the notification, the Police services went to the scene and intensive checks in the area are continuing to locate and capture the perpetrator(s).
Meanwhile, a special investigative group has been set up and, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working intensively to capture and administer any evidence that will serve the investigation, with the aim of fully clarifying the incident, legally documenting it, as well as identifying and capturing the perpetrator(s), "the police statement said, a few hours after the crime. /Pamphlet/
