Police have provided official details regarding the gunshot wound that occurred in Kamëz, where 26-year-old Ardian Baloshi lost his life.
According to the announcement, at around 11:25, information was received that the young man had been transported to the hospital with no signs of life. Initial investigative actions indicate that Baloshi was shot with a firearm on "Dervish Luzha" street, in Kamëz, after a conflict over weak motives.
The victim was rushed to the Trauma Hospital, but could not survive the injuries he sustained.
Preliminary sources indicate that the conflict that ended in tragedy is suspected to have started after a fight during a soccer game. Meanwhile, eyewitness Amarildo Vukaj has been taken to the police, and is being questioned to help clarify the incident.
The police have identified 39-year-old S. Ll. as the suspected perpetrator and have set up checkpoints on the main roads, while numerous forces are engaged in the field to capture him.
The investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, continues to work to fully document the event and clarify all the circumstances that led to the murder of the young man.
"Tirana. Today, at around 11:25, a report was received that citizen AB, around 27 years old, was transported to the hospital without signs of life.
Immediately after receiving the notification, an investigation group was set up and the first investigative actions were carried out. From the evidence administered so far, it is suspected that citizen A. B was shot with a firearm on “Dervish Luzha” street, in Kamëz, after a conflict for weak motives.
The suspected perpetrator of the incident has been identified as citizen S. Ll., aged around 39. Checkpoints were immediately set up on the main road axes, additional police forces were deployed on the ground, and intensive checks are being carried out to locate and capture him.
A special investigative group, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is continuing its work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, document it legally, and hold the perpetrator legally accountable.
"We clarify that there are no other citizens harmed by this event. The State Police is maximally committed to capturing the perpetrator and we will inform you in the future about everything related to this event," the police announced.
