A serious event shocked Mati during the weekend. 63-year-old Islam Meta executed 52-year-old Petrit Kuka with a firearm and after the murder he called the police and surrendered.
According to preliminary investigations, it is suspected that the murder was revenge for an old event that happened 11 years ago, where Petri Kuka had injured his daughter, after a conflict for weak motives. Immediately after the notification, the police services went to the scene and accompanied the author.
Gjin Marku, the head of the international blood reconciliation community, said that the father saw the girl's life in danger.
In an interview for the "Good Morning Albanians" show, he emphasized that the rejection of the engagement by the girl but also by the latter's parents are normal.
"The father felt that the girl's life was in danger because the gun was pointed at the girl. The girl's injury was an unnecessary and unfair burden on the victim. Neither in custom nor in the canon is there any reason to discuss the rejection of a girl's proposed hand in marriage. Rejection by the girl and rejection by the parents is completely normal," he said.
