The court of Elbasan has sentenced Tefik Tashin to life imprisonment, who killed his sister-in-law with an ax a year ago.
The event took place on May 15 at around 13.00 in the village of Kusarth, Elbasan, where the defendant Tefik Tashi, 59, killed with an ax the citizen Alma Qevani, who was his wife's sister.
"The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction has registered criminal proceedings no. 532 of 2023 with data relating to the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations" provided by Article 79/ci K. Criminal, with defendant Tefik Tashi and victim citizen Alma Qevani.
It turned out that on 17.05.2023, around 13.00 in the village of Kusarth, Elbasan, the defendant Tefik Tashi killed with an ax the citizen Alma Qevani, who was his wife's sister.
After the judicial review, on 17.07.2024, the Prosecutor requested a guilty plea and a sentence of life imprisonment.
The Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction with the decision dated 17.07.2024 decided the guilty plea and sentencing the defendant Tefik Tashi to life imprisonment", the court announced.
The 44-year-old woman was hit with an ax on the street by her brother-in-law Tefik Tashi in front of her wife.
The police said that initially there was an argument between the author of the incident and his sister-in-law, the woman's sister, which then escalated to murder. The 59-year-old man was drunk at the time of the crime, while after his arrest he told the investigators that Alma had cursed him and that was the reason he got angry and hit him. The woman was initially taken to the hospital, but could not survive her serious injuries. Etleva Qevani, the author's wife, said that the fight started after Alma did not answer Tefik's phone.
