A firearm was found inside the infamous "Koridhalos" prison in Athens, where many Albanian citizens are serving their sentence, often the protagonists of fatal clashes inside it.
The news was officially made public by the Greek police, according to which, the weapon was found at noon on Sunday in the basement of the prison.
Inside a hidden place in the wall, during the search, a pistol with an empty comb was discovered and next to it 15 9 mm caliber cartridges, wrapped in insulating tape. The police and the prison administration have started investigations to find out the reasons for hiding the weapon, if it was used to assassinate any prisoner or to escape.
Several Albanians have been killed and many others have been injured over the years inside Koridhalos prison, mostly with cold weapons, but there have also been cases of escapes.
