
The well-known actor and director Anastas Nika has passed away.
It is learned that Nika has been suffering from a serious illness for 1 year. Despite the family's efforts and the donations collected for his cure, he could not win the battle with the disease. The news was announced by his son on social networks.
"Dear friends, I regret to inform you that my father, Anastas Nika, joined God this morning in the hospital of Athens. We are waiting for condolences at the "Bebri Funeral Home" (in Limion in front of the cemetery). The funeral will be tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. in the Saranda cemetery. With respect, the Nika family!", writes his son.
Actor Anastas Nika was born in Sopik, Saranda, on January 5, 1960. He began his secondary studies at the School of Culture in Tirana, in the field of directing. He was expelled in the third year, as he sang and taught others foreign songs, which was not allowed in the then monist system.
As a result, he is sentenced to two years, being employed as a worker in different factories. Then, he performed two years of mandatory military service, opening tunnels and building bunkers for heavy military vehicles and vehicles.
After completing his military service, he worked as a laborer in a brick factory for five years, where he almost lost his life as a result of working in extremely difficult conditions.
During this time he worked at night, to be active during the day with the troupe of the Saranda City Theater, one of his dreams and passions.
He finished high school for Agronomy. He is given the opportunity to complete a director's course at the National Theatre, Tirana. In the period 1986-1990, one of his great wishes in life was fulfilled, he completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, in Tirana, as an actor, with great success and distinguished for his results. After graduation, he was appointed an actor in the Professional Theater of Elbasan.
With the beginning of the democratic processes, he returned to the city of Saranda and began practicing his profession at the Estrada Theater, where he continues today as a director, actor and screenwriter.
He performed with great professionalism and passion about 130 roles on stage, cinema and television.
He has performed in great classical works such as: "King Lear" (Shakespeare), "The Witches of Salem" (Arthur Myler), "The Microbourgeois" (Maxim Gorky), "Antigone" (Sophocles), "The Man Who Saw Death With His Eyes" (Viktor Eftimiu), "Not all thieves come for bad" (Dario Fo), "Diary of a Madman" (Nikolaj Gogol), "The Engagement" (Anton Chekhov), "My Wife's Husband" (Miro Gavran , Croatian), other. He has excelled in the interpretation of several films such as: "Ugolini", "City lights", "One heart in two lives", "Guest" as well as "Amnesty" (the latter was even nominated for the "Oscar") .
He excelled and excels in creative activity by writing and staging, as a director, more than 70 works and performances of various genres and types. He has made about 50 poetic mini-films with prominent Albanian and world authors such as: Shakespeare, Kipling, Omar Khayam, Fan Noli, Naim Frashëri, Ismail Kadere, Dritëro Agolli, Lasgush Poradeci, Sergej Esenin, Ali Asllani, Pashko Vasa, Xhevahir Spahiu, Ali Podrimja, Fatmir Gjata, Teodor Keko, Bardhyl Maliqi and others.
