Hollywood icon Robert Redford passes away!
Robert Redford, the Hollywood icon, has died at the age of 89.
Publicist Cindu Berger was the one who made the sad news public, saying that 'the actor passed away at his home in Sundance in the mountains of Utah, the place he loved and surrounded by friends.'
"We will miss him greatly," says Berger, adding that the family requests privacy.
He has had a major impact on both the film industry and American culture in general.
Redford became known in the 1960s and 1970s with roles in major films that are now considered classics, such as:
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969)
“The Sting” (1973)
“All the President's Men” (1976) – about the Watergate scandal
“The Great Gatsby” (1974)
"Out of Africa" (1985) - with Meryl Streep
“The Natural” (1984)
