A century of voice, art and dignity: Remembering Lukë Kaçaj

A century after his birth, we remember with honor and respect the bass-baritone Lukë Kaçaj, one of the most prominent figures of Albanian lyrical art and one of the most powerful voices the Albanian operatic scene has known.

Often referred to as the “Albanian Shalyapin”, Kaçaj stood out for his rare timbre, extraordinary interpretation and artistic presence, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Albanian opera. Beyond his success on stage, he remains a symbol of endurance and human dignity, as his talent faced great challenges in difficult periods of life, never fading from time or circumstances.

In the framework of the 100th anniversary of the artist's birth, the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Popular Ensemble organizes on June 19, at 8:00 PM, a special evening dedicated to his life and work.

Through music, memories, and artistic tributes, the public will have the opportunity to recall the figure of an artist who gave voice to an era and who continues to inspire entire generations.

An evening to honor the artist.
An evening to remember the man.
An evening for the voice that defied time.
