Maria Poradeci, the daughter of the prominent poet Lasgush Poradeci, has expressed her indignation regarding the placement of a memorial plaque in Vienna, in the place where the poet lived for 10 years.
According to her, the municipality of Pogradec has not properly represented her father's legacy and she has not received any official invitation to the event, despite the fact that the information about the placement of the plaque was given to her by the Albanian ambassador to Austria.
"The vice-president takes me and says: buy the ticket, because the president will pay for it. I said: who are you talking to? You have a duty to bring me an invitation. I did not go out to beg. If the embassy organized it, let it bring me an invitation," says Maria.
She adds that, in addition to the lack of invitation, she was outraged by the lack of respect shown by the Pogradec municipality towards her father's figure:
"They have been treating my father cruelly for 35 years. The Palace of Culture was named 'Lasgush Poradeci', but later they disappeared, took his nephew and the seal. My father's house did not become a museum, but turned into a robbery. Only words, lies and mockery," said Maria.
