Met Bega's daughter: Albanian films after 2000 are no longer valuable

Matilda Bega, the daughter of the late actor Met Bega, has reacted with strong notes of nostalgia and criticism towards Albanian cinema after the 2000s. Invited to "Top Story", she stated that she refuses to watch today's Albanian films, calling them trivialized and devoid of the values that characterized art before the '90s.

"These artists are immortal. They will never return to Albania. I have gone to the cinema, I have seen Albanian films... I refuse to see them, they absolutely do not come close!" she said.

According to Matilda Bega, banality and rampant advertising have replaced the craftsmanship, thoughtful scripts, and authentic interpretations of the past. She recalled that before, they worked for months on a film, with full financial support from the state, emphasizing that the humor was pure, without insults or vulgarity.

She ended the interview with a clear message: "Those actors don't come around anymore. They were once in history."
