Today in Vlora, the ceremony of raising the Albanian flag was held on the occasion of the 111th anniversary of the Independence of Albania.
Present at this activity were the highest heads of state; President Begaj, Prime Minister Rama and Speaker of Parliament Nikola.
Also present in Vlora at the flag raising ceremony was the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, who in recent months has had several verbal clashes with Rama on the issue of northern Kosovo.
Flag Day is celebrated and honored today by all Albanians, as a holiday of national pride and commemoration of the 111th anniversary of Independence.
Vlora hosted hundreds of citizens in the state flag raising ceremony, to the sounds of the national anthem and with the presence of the highest political personalities of Albania and Kosovo, who honored the high national act of declaring independence.
Meanwhile, the Parade of Albanians will be organized for the first time in our country.
With the participation of thousands of Albanians from all over the world, the parade will gather over 150 folk ensembles. The parade starts at 11:00.
The parade starts from "Mother Teresa" square, as the gathering point, to continue in the direction of "Skënderbej" square. After everyone gathers in "Skenderbej" square, there will be the ceremonial raising of the flag. For 15 years, this organization of the 'Albanian Roots' association has clothed New York with the flag and has served to give messages of unity to Albanians, while for the first time it is also held in our country.
The president, the prime minister, the speaker of the Assembly will raise the flag ceremonially at 10:00 a.m. in Vlora.
