The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has denounced the government's "Smart City" project for intelligent police cameras.
During his speech, at a meeting with opposition parties and civil society, Berisha considered this project as "Smart theft".
According to Berisha, in Sweden a policeman's hat costs 15 euros, while in Albania it costs 300 euros.
"15 thousand euros for a police body camera. Smart City, smart theft. Unimaginable. A police hat in Sweden cost 15 euros for a Swedish policeman, 300 euros for an Albanian policeman, and the one who made the tender goes from one studio to another, giving moral support to Edi Rama. A bunch of thieves," said Berisha.
Berisha also denounced other tenders, which according to him were taken by the prime minister's henchman.
"Their works collapse as if they were made of cardboard and not concrete. Hundreds of millions of euros have disappeared with 98% like the Tirana incinerator. In 2013, there were 25,600 computers in schools. They disappeared and in the new tender that Edi Rma's wife's brother-in-law made, he brought computers through customs at a price 10 times higher than in Western stores. 75 million was the tender for improving AI, which does not exist in Albania. If this exists, we need to improve it. 2 weeks ago, he ordered the Ministry of Finance to disburse the last 25 million to the peasants," Berisha said.
