When 14 years have passed since the January 21 event, where 4 protesters were killed on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, the incident still remains unsolved.
Analyst Namir Lapardhaja, speaking on Vizion Plus, stated that this event has been exploited politically.
However, Lapardhaja emphasized that now that the matter is being investigated by SPAk, it creates confidence that the incident will be solved and the perpetrators will be held accountable.
According to him, everyone is clear that January 21 was made for Ilir Meta's "Black Bloc".
-Justice has not been done, say the victims' families, what are the chances that it will happen?
Laparadhaja: January 21st, in my opinion, is one of the most painful events in the history of the transition, where 4 innocent citizens lost their lives. For 14 years, this serious event has been used by politics as a decoration, just like today. A very ugly scene. Albanian families and citizens have their right to have this serious event clarified, but in the political context of the development of events, politics not only used January 21st, but the political party that was in opposition at the time and then came to power, not only did not do justice, but also took the protagonists of January 21st with them. We know that January 21st was made for Ilir Meta's black bloc. After 2013, Ilir Meta would declare that we will leave that event to archaeologists. We recall that Meta became the Speaker of the Parliament and then the President with the votes of this majority. While part of the fire group was promoted to office.
-Will justice be served?
Lapardhaja: Personally, I have faith in SPAK, I wish and hope that now, with a new team of prosecutors, the part that has remained uninvestigated will be investigated in order to calm the souls of those victims.
-A part of the political criticism believes that SPAK still does not have the guts to deal with Berisha, about whom he said not 3 but 3 thousand would be killed if they dared, what do you think?
Lapardhaja: What makes Berisha guilty are the statements made after the event, but also the fact that the Prosecutor's Office of the time did not allow the arrest of some of the members of the Guard. Berisha has these facts. SPAK not only has the means to investigate Berisha, and investigations are continuing not only against Berisha but also against senior officials. SPAK's work is continuing step by step. The fact that the Strasbourg Court returned January 21 to be tried by the Special Prosecutor's Office means that we will soon have an answer to this issue. Dumani himself stated two days ago that this is an issue that is under investigation.
