DP MP Ervin Salianji has declared that the elections to be held on July 29 for the new leader of the party are nothing but a public shambles.
In an interview for Euronews Albania, he emphasized that the elections have no political weight, underlining that Lulzim Basha has confiscated PD and that he is still the head of this force in the Court, as he has never fled.
Among other things, he expresses his conviction that the opposition will be remade and that they will be ready for the July 29 parliamentary elections.
" I believe that DP will find the strength to remake itself and have a different approach with the public. The opposition must be rebuilt and must be opened to all those who have contributed to the DP. July 29 will produce nothing. We are in a hostage situation by a man called Lulzim Basha who has taken everything from the Democrats. With the help of the regime, he confiscated everything in DP. He still exists in the Court as the head of the DP.
He is making a public tollovi, almost meeting with 7-8 people. It will be there as if nothing happened. This date is useless and has no value. I believe that this date will be in a situation where it has no weight. Basha's appearance on the political scene has shifted the focus from the responsibility of how the opposition should redo, to correctly read the election results. It is clear why this move is happening, to shift the focus of the debate to something else. I have hope that we will be able to rebuild and be competitive in the 2025 elections ," he said.
