This Tuesday, it is expected that the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will visit Albania. he will participate in two important summits which will take place in Tirana on February 28 and 29.
To talk more about this important visit as well as about the two summits that will take place, the first with a focus on Ukraine and the second with a focus on the Western Balkans, was in an interview with Alice Taylor in Euronews Albania, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama.
And while he spoke about his expectations about important meetings and summits that will take place this week, Prime Minister Rama also answered a very important question for Albanians. Will the prime minister of Albania discuss with Zelensky, about the recognition of Kosovo's independence?
Excerpts from the conversation:
Alice Taylor: I have a question regarding Kosovo. Kosovo has been vocal in its support for Ukraine, but Ukraine has declared that it will not recognize Kosovo. Is this something you can discuss with Zelensky during his visit?
Edi Rama: Listen, the most noble thing that Kosovo is doing is that it is being loyal to its values. This honors Kosovo and is not done to gain something. Kosovo is doing the right thing, first for itself, as far as loyalty to its values is concerned. Of course, the road to recognition by Ukraine is long, but it is positive that Kosovo will be a participant. President Osmani responded very quickly to the invitation and we will all be there together. Despite the differences, complicated issues among themselves, everyone will be there with Ukraine, for something that connects us all, in different ways.
