Will we have early elections? Bledi Çuçi does not deny it: SP is

The head of the socialist parliamentary group, Bledi Çuçi, does not deny the possibility of early elections.

Although he did not say it directly, the spaces for hints were left by the biggest political force in the country.

In the General Assembly that took place the day before, with closed doors, it was Prime Minister Edi Rama who gave instructions for preparing for early elections.

The same line was also maintained by the head of the parliamentary group, Bledi Çuçi, during today's meeting with the deputies, where he reportedly stated that we are already in the campaign and preparations for the elections have started.

In an interview this evening, Çuçi left this possibility open.

"There is no reason or fear for early elections," he said.

According to Çuçi, the start of preparation for elections is not an alarm, even though it is still early, considering that the next general elections are more than a year away.

This is something normal for the head of the socialist parliamentary group.

"We are the largest, most structured and most consolidated party, even in the region, the SP of Albania is the most organized. And it is normal that a year before the elections we start the capillary organization and it has nothing to do with a fear or premeditation to go to early elections. It's not an alarm, if you've followed us over the years, we've always done it. In every local or central election, we start the organization of the party a year in advance to get our machinery ready for the next campaign. There is nothing done differently. It should be taken into consideration that a year before the elections, the number that abstains is very large," he said in an interview with ABC News.

Numerous developments in the political camp lead to the allusion that the SP itself can lead the country to early elections.

On the one hand, we have a dysfunction of the political dialogue in parliament amid the disturbances created by the opposition, and on the other hand, the many problems that this majority has created with justice, from the incinerator affair to the McGonigal case.

Only recently, the former number two of the government, Arben Ahmetaj, has mentioned important names of the Socialist Party and the Rama government as being involved in corruption, while the arrests and investigations by SPAK for officials of this majority continue.
