The head of the SP parliamentary group, Bledi Çuçi, speaking about the political situation within the socialists, also stopped at the politicians under investigation by SPAK.
In an interview in "Real Story" on ABC News, Çuçi said that whoever has a job with justice within the SP, will deal with justice alone. While regarding the reform in justice, he said that there is still a need to increase it.
" It is not called cleaning, but a development. SP, from the chairman to the last official, has declared that whoever has business with justice will deal with justice, we do not become a shield. We are the only party that has such a clear position on this issue. It was clear for the SP, we are the founders of this new law, we are the political force that founded it. If there is one thing that is clear in the public opinion, it is the position of the SP with the new justice that still needs to grow ", said socialite Çuçi.
He further emphasized that the Socialist Party does not become a shield for anyone when there are requests from the new justice bodies. He also gave a personal opinion, as a lawyer and as a politician, about how public officials should be treated.
" I think we should be careful, when it comes to criminal responsibility bodies, which have the right to deprive and limit a person's freedom, there should be a careful approach to public officials, in the sense that they are not presumed as people who are there only to do corruption or people who always get hit, the opposite should be presumed. Investigate, find facts, and of course, when the decision is made, everyone should be held accountable before justice. This is my position as a politician, or as a professional lawyer, but at the moment when it comes to a request from a new justice body, of course we do not discuss it. Concrete, specific decisions that are taken or that are requested to be taken are matters of justice. Whereas if you want my opinion, I would say that a careful approach should be taken, because it is related to a somewhat special status vis-à-vis the public of every public functionary ", he said.
