Democratic Party MP Klevis Balliu spoke about the DP's candidacy for the Tirana Municipality elections.
Asked if he will be the Democratic Party candidate to challenge Ogerta Manastirliu, Balliu said: I don't rule out the race!
Regarding the primaries, Balliu added that there will be no time for primaries.
"I don't rule it out. I don't rule out the race. I never rule out the race. I'll have to think about it, I'll have to look at myself, I'll have to think about the race, but I don't rule it out. And since you're asking me, I don't know if I want it or not. But I can't rule it out. I can't say yes or no. Because the first one is out of the question. The second one, we don't know what format we'll go with, the third one, we don't know if there will be time to hold the Primary. If I were to tell you that I won't be running, I can't say that," Balliu told "A2 Cnn".
Among other things, Balliu stressed that none of his colleagues exclude the possibility of competing.
"There will be candidates. The DP will be in the Tirana municipal elections whenever they are with its own candidate. I am convinced that none of my colleagues excludes it as a competition. And other colleagues do not exclude it as a process and I guarantee you this. Not everyone will run for local government, they have a different physiognomy or political profile. Don't expect everyone to want to become mayor. There are people who don't want to," Balliu said.
But, the right-wing lawmaker emphasized that before entering a race, they must be sure that there is a race.
"Because a request was made by Rama's Erioni once, and his own Erioni now, to take it to the Constitutional Court, we do not know if there will be elections. Because of this, an analysis must be done in the party," the MP explained.
