Do the DP's claims about vote manipulation hold true? Spahiu: Over 15

Do the DP's claims about the manipulation of the May 11 vote by the majority or about the 'Bulgarian train' hold true?

After the heavy defeat, its leader Sali Berisha is calling it an 'electoral farce', but so far no concrete evidence of election manipulation or stolen ballots has been provided.

This is what lawyer Kreshnik Spahiu said during his analysis of this 'rebus' and the opposition's political alibi, today on the show '5 Questions from Babaramo', on Report TV.

The lawyer does not believe the DP and Berisha's thesis in the political discourse, raising as a counter-question the fact that over 15 thousand opposition commissioners were unable to catch a stolen ballot, while even the ones he is claiming in Peqin turn out to be photocopies or fakes.

"The entire phase of complaints by subjects, including that of candidates for preferential votes, must be exhausted. It is good that before the next Parliament begins, this phase of constitution and complaints has been completed, in order to fully clarify any claims."

I have one thing clear, 5200 voting centers, each center 5 commissioners, half of the opposition, so 15600 thousand commissioners or counters throughout the country, and I have not seen a counter or commissioner go on television and produce evidence of vote manipulation in weeks.

"The first one was not done in flagrante delicto, where there is a lot of talk about the Bulgarian train, and neither SPAK nor the media have the obligation, but the commissioners who are the defenders of the free vote. They should have done this. The ones in Peqin were not ballots, but advertising leaflets for a gloss. I say for a commissioner to catch this manipulation in flagrante delicto and denounce it. If it is as you say, it would be positive that a commissioner has captured evidence and facts, but as the Police or SPAK say, it is different," said Spahiu.

He described it as more of a political debate without evidence and unsupported by facts that should be denounced by those who were the "guardians" of the votes in commissions or centers.

Spahiu even brought up the example of how the DP did not want electronic counting, because it trusted the commissioners, but the latter failed to catch any cases of vote manipulation in flagrante delicto, as is publicly claimed.

"But MPs, candidates, politicians, parties, etc. come out and speak, but not the guards, commissioners or counters and tell you where they found the thefts or violations. I wish it were so, but a debate is being held without evidence, conspiratorial. If it were so, we would have electronic counting. The opposition rejected electronic voting because it trusted the commissioners' muscles," the lawyer continued his analysis for Report TV.

He even went further, challenging the opposition to issue at least 32 ballots proving vote manipulation, given the 320,000 vote difference it has with the SP.

He stuck to the legal and judicial side, underlining that it is the law enforcement agencies that should have spoken, such as the Police and the Prosecution, but the latter have so far not declared anything about criminal violations.

"There is a 320 thousand vote difference. Let them come out with at least 0.01 percent or 32 votes and say that they were stolen, but this story is always the same, we have no arrests in flagrante delicto, no complaints about vote theft. We have entered into a theoretical debate. Those who have the obligation, the Police, the prosecution and the commissioners, are nowhere to debate this," said Spahiu.
