Lawyer Spartak Ngjela has commented on the political situation in the country. Invited to the 'Studio Live' show on Report TV, he said that the presence of Sali Berisha at the head of the Democratic Party, even after losing the elections, is in favor of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as it is easier for him to win against him.
Ngjela emphasized that Berisha intends to take power, but this cannot happen as long as the DP is led by him, as he is a persona non grata declared by the US.
"If Sali Berisha stays as leader of the DP, this is in Rama's favor. Rama protects him, because with him he wins for life, and Rama now has the concern that he could be punished, because he is under criminal charges. If he is punished by SPAK, he will flee politics because the constitution does not allow it. Rama wants Sali in the DP because with him he wins for life. The DP and its leader are fighting to take over the government, but can Albania have a man who is non grata in America?" said the lawyer.
Ngjela also touched on the law of war with Greece. He said that the law of war between Albania and Greece is no longer valid, since both countries are part of NATO.
"They have asked to keep it, we are in NATO. There are two NATO countries. The fact that we are two members of NATO means that the law of war has fallen. What does the law of war mean between two countries that are members of NATO?", he said.
There was also a comment regarding the maritime issue with Greece, for which Foreign Minister Igli Hasani said that the maritime issue will be resolved at the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
"How will these people in The Hague solve it, who will throw it. Who is the subject that will take it to The Hague, Albania or Greece? Albania has no claim. Then the Hague Court has no executive power, who will take the Albanians to The Hague, if Rama takes them, he is with Athens. It is national treason," he said.
