Adriatik Lapaj does not yet have a definitive answer regarding his possible candidacy for mayor of Tirana, under the slogan of the "Albania Becomes" Movement.
"It may or may not be, it remains to be seen," was Lapaj's response to journalist Ervin Koçi.
Lapaj was more exhaustive, listing the reasons why the party he leads will continue to remain active in political life and will work to ensure good performance in the upcoming local elections.
"What I can say with full responsibility is that we will work day by day until the next elections to perform as well as possible. I believe every citizen who follows us is aware that in Albania we are not in the conditions of a normal competition. Should this keep us out of politics, we young people who want to change things in this country? No. Because if we had not been engaged, the diaspora vote today would not be a reality. We collected 21 thousand signatures, we raised awareness through activities in the diaspora. Should this demotivate us to compete? No. Because only in this way can we push the process on the right track. We have entered this journey to give what we can give, but we cannot become like them to win. So I cannot make agreements with anyone to seize political power," Lapaj said.
He further left open the possibility of coalitions, despite the fact that the first attempt at cooperation with Endri Shabani's "Nisma Thurje" proved problematic.
"We will move forward, just as we are. Can we make agreements with other parties? Yes, definitely. The fact that you fail in love once does not mean that you will not fall in love again in life," Lapaj emphasized to A2 CNN.
