Lawyer Arben Llangozi has commented on the statements of Mayor Erion Veliaj and Prime Minister Edi Rama, regarding the 5D scandal involving the Municipality of Tirana.
According to the lawyer, Veliaj is now in a difficult position.
I said it and I say it again that Erion Veliaj is in a very difficult position, due to the statement he made to the media.
He was irritated, so in a way he reflected his difficult position.
I have said and I repeat that every head of the institution is implicated in at least one theft and in the current case we do not have a small damage...but we have a continuation, that funds were received from the municipality, and obviously he was aware of this fact.
But, even if he was not aware, he should have been, because in that position his job is to control every penny and every subordinate.
He has a legal duty!', he said.
Yesterday, Erion Veliaj reacted after 7 days to the scandal that broke out in the Municipality of Tirana, where its most important directors ended up in handcuffs by order of SPAK. Veliaj defended the work of the directors, but distanced himself categorically from their affairs , using the arguments of Edi Rama, that there is no responsibility for the "works" that the directors may have done behind his back.
Even Rama, through a long status on social networks, reacted for the first time to the arrests carried out by SPAK against officials and former officials of the Municipality of Tirana, fully supporting the position held by the mayor Erion Veliaj.
The SP leader said that the opposition is throwing mud and slander on this issue.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazment Bardhi, has shown the backstage of the statements of Edi Rama who supported the position of the mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj regarding the scandal of the 5D company.
Bardhi says that Edi Rama supported Erion Veliaj even more than he supported his biological brother Olsi Rama, because he knows that Erion Veliaj has the fate of power in his hands.
