Today, the Socialist Party is holding the next meeting of the National Assembly behind closed doors.
Since 11:00, around 400 members of the SP Assembly have gathered in a restaurant on the outskirts of Tirana where they are discussing not only the 2025 parliamentary elections, but also the reorganization of the structures within the party.
The general assembly of the SP has a broad agenda for the discussions that will be held in this assembly, where for each district there will be 3 representatives who will report all the problems that have been encountered on the ground, not only with the basis and structure of the SP.
In addition to the representatives from each region, there will also be the political leaders of the regions who will present the issues and objectives they will have for the 2025 parliamentary elections.
From the reports so far, the first district that has reported is Tirana , where there have been no shortage of remarks and criticisms about Erion Veliaj.
Prime Minister Rama has asked the head of the district Erion Veliaj, the names of the members and heads of the branches who have not done enough, to take measures where their movement from the positions they have in the SP branches is not excluded.
There have been remarks about the Municipality of Kavaja, which belongs to the district of Tirana, there has been criticism for the fact that the Municipality of Kavaja was lost by the SP in the local elections of 2023.
Edi Rama has asked for a regeneration of the SP in order to have a better reorganization, where he has even warned that there will be exceptions related to this municipality.
Also, it is reported that the prime minister has requested that new names be included in the structures of the SP, who are not involved in any corrupt affairs, without jeopardizing the image of this political force.
He chose not to make any comments on the accusations of the former number 2 of the SP, Arben Ahmetaj, according to whom Rama and the mayor Erion Veliaj are the "head" of the incinerators.
"SP is in an extremely important process and we are aware that a great opening of the party and the widest possible involvement of those who have the internal need to contribute is most necessary," Rama told the media before the start of the Assembly.
