Gazment Bardhi has revealed details from today's meeting of the democratic parliamentary group, after its sensational merger with the party that supports former Prime Minister Berisha.
Bardhi had announced his union in the evening when, after the protest in front of the parliament, he decided to be present at the rally below Berisha's apartment, and only today he decided to make it official by going to the headquarters of the DP to participate in the meeting of parliamentary group also at the meeting of the National Council.
However, Bardhi says that there are still differences between the MPs in their positions.
Bardhi does not even say whether he will be the chairman of the "Reestablishment" parliamentary group, even though sources from inside the closed-door meeting indicated that the deputies were more than ready to offer him party positions.
"We are not busy with allocating posts. No one has shared any post in this act. The goal was to find a solution to the chaotic situation where the PD was, we became aware that the chaos with each other was harming the PD and the opposition. This was my position before the local elections.
This is unity in diversity. We do not have the same positions on some issues, but this does not prevent us from being the voice of the citizens. We have not had such discussions because it is the last thing that concerned us, the separation of positions. Each of us has found our place, we must be close to the democrats and citizens", said Bardhi.
Bardhi says that the discussions were about the topic of unification and the common political project.
According to him, today's action was only the formalization of a will clearly expressed by the democrats.
"We had discussions about a joint political project. What happened today was the formalization of a common will to be together.
The mistrust between the parties about the objectives we want to achieve was great. We all said what we thought and where we stood on certain issues. Even today, the issue of the party that we are talking about is kept suspended for no reason by the Albanian courts. It was the most difficult issue", said Bardhi on Report TV.
