Commenting on the possible primaries in the Democratic Party, analyst Arben Meçe said that MPs like Gazment Bardhit will not win the primaries.
Meçe said that this comes because MPs like Bardhi are not connected to the party's political terrain.
"Gazment Bardhi does not win the primaries in Fier. He has not lived a political life. He does not know the party on the ground. The one closest to the clan always wins. Why should party leaders be included in the primaries? When he became party leader, think of the clan efforts he made within the area. Gaz's turn is not on this list of the field. He took Gaz, but he can take everyone. Këlliçi took 90% of the village, the city where he had never approached was won by the other one," Meçe said on Report TV.
He also commented on Lulzim Basha's move towards Sali Berisha, describing it as a game just to legitimize the latter as leader of the DP.
"3 days ago, the Euro-Atlantic spokesperson came out and said there will be no new party. Basha will cut the seal. In these two years, the DP with Berisha has become a modern party. The changes are visible. And the flow of judges is going from the DP. It is integrating into the Euro-Atlantic international structures. It includes almost 90% of the world and made a resolution regarding the DP. It is now asking to send a fact-finding commission to Tirana.
It has become very funny. Two years ago, my position was clear that Basha's movement was an act directed by Berisha to approve him as leader. When the campaign comes, a faction may also be introduced in the DP. Why should Basha stay away from the DP? Those political indicators that divided him have disappeared. Now the faction is expected and we will have the unification of the DP. The entire leadership structure of the DP is what it was, but Berisha was not de jure the leader. The entire movement was made so that Berisha could take the de facto leadership. It has been a very long road," said Meçe.
